The Turbonator boys asked for a thread with links to the restoration. heres a start. I can't seem to find any for the bodywork so I'll put that together later from the pics I have.

Engine rebuild ?

Where did you find the timing gear set? No one seems to sell them anymore for the 6.2L (including DSG)

really sean? this makes me drink beer so i don't have to finish . everytime i grab something to clean up, i end up with another box of parts and a week of things to do. the otherday i desgreased my rad support, that opened another can of worms to clean up and fix

Yeah i have to decide what to do with my truck. It needs some work, drivers side of the cab is falling apart. Rocker panel is just hanging on now, floor is getting worse by the week and inner fender needs to be replaced, the battery tray is supported by some wood blocking. A few other things like install my other IP, new shocks all around, replace the exhaust, paint the cab and put on the flat bed. None of that stuff is real pressing though.

Problem as usual is when I have time I have no extra money and when I have extra money I have no time. I had that crew cab lined up and that would have been sweet cause i could have used most of my new front end parts on it but that seems to have fell through.

this must be a Canuck fix. i had the same repair to my drivers tray. the inner fender was pretty much hanging loose.

ok mine isnt anywhere near that bad. the floors are solid, the rockers have a very small rust hole in it, the inner and outer fenders are solid with a little rust around the bottoms, and the battery trays are both solid.

bodyman buddy coming over Monday, hopefully ready to paint after that.
had to strip a quarter and redo it. Tiawan panals suck.

If it checks out OK, everything comes off again and gets fine sanded for paint and I can bedline the interior
