Since I had the video camera out for my weird noise, I thought I would show my blow-by too. What do y'all think?

In the background you can hear my "weird noise" also!

I think there is more blow-by than the video shows, at least it looks worse in person. Don't have a clue on the CDR. I've never changed it. We have a spare at work. I'll throw it on and see. When I have more time I'll try the "manometer" thing.

Hey, NICE VIDEO!! I have got a video that I took, that looks exactly the same! Are you noticing anything out the tailpipe? My truck was losing coolant, and the blowby smelled like oil mixed with dexcool. How does the level of your coolant look? Check one of my last threads about my 6.5, if you would like.

When I bought my truck, there was a little blowby, but not like it is now, or like yours is. I had tons of goop in my CDR which is located in the passenger side valve cover. My poor diesel is parked right now, and I am going to be pulling the engine to figure out what is causing all my grief.

If you need any help man, give me a holler.

Nothin' out the tailpipe, no coolant leaks, level is good. I haven't checked the CDR yet to see what it looks like. I wanna do the manometer test when I get time, I just have NO time right now.

This might not be what you want to hear... But i had a 6.2L that did that, and it turned to be a cracked block abouve the crank on #2 and #4. I was not able to see it after pulling the oil pan until i put a coolant system pressure tester on the system. Then wala water was ever so slightly seeping out. I never really noticed coolant loss or water in the oil, just the blow by and slight accumlitation of water and oil sludge. I hope this is not your case. but if everything else fails to show the problem, ya might want to give this a try. P/K

I hope it's just a coincidence, but I highly doubt it!

Manometer is in the CDR thread in Resource/FAQ thread. It's a u-tube manometer. Can be homemade out of 3/8" v. tubing.
