Today I had the pleasure of visiting Ken Imler Diesel Performance in Sacramento, CA (916) 920-3775. Ken is a very nice and knowledgeable man and has a top notch shop fitted with a Mustang dyno capable of running a 40' motor home should the need arise! He has the largest selection of diesel performance products I've seen in Sacramento. The best part is I only had to drive 15 minutes to get there. This will DEFINATELY be the location of the future Northern California dyno day...

I made 15 runs in all. All runs were made with a 25 second sweep from 30MPH to 85MPH. The TTS programming is in every run as I didn't have a stock ECM to switch out. I'll be going back a second time with a friend's truck to try some other combos. I apologize for the scale of the graphs as I forgot to ask him to change them before the printouts were made. Well on to the important stuff!

All of the graphs here, as well as my previous dyno runs and other Dmax pictures are available on my website @ http://www.wackywack.com/dmax.htm.

Numbers look pretty much the same as they did on the dyno in LA. Makes you wonder about how some people come up with there advertised HP claims.

All I know is what i see on paper. some trucks may differ from mine. I've come to realize that what's important to me is what MY truck runs. While I've seen other people put down some great numbers with other stacks my truck just doesn't for some reason which I'm still trying to understand. I will say that the TTS program drives very smooth. So smooth that I'd let my GF drive it w/o worry of her wrecking it in the rain. I'm amazed that it drives like stock until i put it to the wood. I think driving in the rain is the best test of drivability as its so easy to break traction.

On another note, I am still surprised how stock my tranny feels. I really thought I would be in for some slightly-rough shifting after the upgrade. But I honestly can't tell the difference except for a firm shift in 3-4 and 4-5 when in WOT. Actually the WOT runs cause tire spin in the 1-2 but i don't mind that.
I must take my hat off to Mike Lovrich for going the extra mile to pull my tranny a second time on a gut feeling which paid off! So far its taken everything I've given it. Granted I don't run drugs- However I don't plan on it. #2 only for me. Every day it still amazes me how much I love this truck. I always thoguht I'd like the BMW better but this Dmax never ceases to amaze me!!!

diesel tech i have seen something close to your half extreme,a dmaxamizer and a edge tranny destroyer dyno almost 530 and 980.i have my own ideas, and am trying new things and combos but it looks like the tts stuff could be worth a try to some....

You've been to a dyno that places a sufficient load on the truck and doesn't let itself get overwhelmed. Too bad Mustang sticks to those "crayola" drawings and doesn't do well with overlays.

I guess a VA pressure box would have been a good thing to have...

I would have sent mine out, lemme know if you want it Nick, I have a few other things at my disposal still
.

I would say it would have pushed you up at least 25-40hp on some of those combos.......

Lemme know,

Tony,

thanks for the offer but i think i'm leving it where it is until i figure out a good fuel pump solution.. Once I do i might take you up on it.. Unfortunately I have to send the Tech 2 back today (Thanks much John!) so i'm stuck w/ the predator to do my testing... unless i find a used tech 2.. I'll be on vacation for a few days so probably won't start until after the 1st of the year..

A VA pressure box would have helped possibly but it would have been much better if you would have had a big Van Aaken box and a stock ecm. That would put up better #'s than what you had with stacks and still had excellent drivability.

Nick,

I seriously doubt that a lift pump will gain anything. I may be wrong, but it hasn't been proven to me yet...

John,

I'll hopefully put that question to bed (at leat pertaining to my own truck) soon. How much PSI do you run at the test port w/ your lift pump running a big program at WOT?
