Would the mbrp straight-piped exhaust throw any codes like it would by deleting the cat? Does it really give you better power than the muffler setup? And is it too loud straight-piped? I don't want ti to sound to deep like a big gas motor, I want more of a whistle sound. I basically want the best amount of power without having any problems. I will be using this setup with the edge juice w/attitude.

Cat-back won't throw any codes. And it isn't much louder than stock. Nice rumble on start up, but it quiets down almost imediatley. Every now and then it makes a sound simular to a large military helicopter coming from a distance, this only happens at idle.

In most cases removing the cat on a Cali truck will throw a CEL. A fingerstick will cure this. I have my MBRP cat-back installed but the front pipe is on back order, 3 weeks now, so can't elaborate on the sound of a full straight pipe, yet. Hopefully I'll get the front pipe this week. I ordered from a vendor on this site and feel I got a good deal, just dissatisfied on delivery of the product. Communication is starting to get difficult also. Hope this helps.

I did receive my front pipe today and installed it in about an hour. Took a little while to get the kitty out. Drove it around a little and noticed the turbo was noticeably louder. Has the "hiss" sound at idle. EGT's seem to come down faster. And definatley smells like a diesel now.
