This is a question for all of you audio guys. I currently have a non-bose stereo in my truck and want to upgrade to a Nav w/ a cd player. I already have most of the pieces to convert my entire truck to the LUX system, but I want some opinions on if it is worth it. I got all of the bose part for cheap so if I don't use them no big deal I can always sell them. I like the idea of only using 1 amp, but since I don't plan on installing a console I will have to get creative with how things are mounted. Minus the Nav unit and changer I'm looking at about $650. Can I get a better sound for that much from the aftermarket? Let me hear your opinions!

You can make your system really bump with aftermarket. With the Lux it is the best the factory offers, but it is still factory. If you want the look of the factory stuff & the upgraded looks of the Nav..... do the upgrade. THe aftermarket Nav stuff ain't all that cheap, & when you start getting into quality amps & components, the $$$ goes up real fast.. Your choice. Got $$$??

For me the most compelling reasons to go all factory and just convert the truck to LUX is so I can have choices for different sound fields and I can do the whole thing for arounf 2k. I'm not all that interested in bump, but I do like to actually hear the bass line in music.

its all oppinion...what you really need to do is go to the local caddy or GMC dealer and bring a CD. Sit in a 2003-2006 denali or escalade and play the CD. That will give you an exact idea how your truck will sound with the LUX amp isntaled.
