I have a 2006 LBZ with the 6 speed allison auto. Very regularly (not all of the time), the transmission will make a loud noise when shifted into park. Its almost like when you put an automatic into park with the vehicle still moving. Its not a grinding noise as much as it is one loud "CLANK." Has anybody else had this noise. The Dealer says it is normal, but I think they are just lazy and dont want to fix anything for FREE.

Yep, that's normal. The park pawl on these vehicles is designed to hold 26,000 pounds on a grade so it's pretty hefty.

but isnt it designed for much more, because its identical to the 2400 pawl which is rated for what...30k??
