Just did both ujoints in my drive shaft 07 LBZ and I noticed that I could almost push the caps in by hand so my question is “ can this be repaired or does it need to be replaced?”

Is your shaft aluminum or steel?
Did your old caps spin in the bore?
That's odd. Usually the caps are a pain to take out and put in. Unless you sand the bores real clean. But still, they shouldn't just slide in that easy. Maybe roughen up the cap a little so it bites better.

It’s an Aluminum shaft and I now find out that this is fairly common with them and it can be taken to a machine shop and rebuilt or buy a new one. Used ones are difficult to find so I have ordered a new one made by Dana so hopefully it will be good for a while
