Lly duramax will not fire.pluged exit fuel line leaving filter it will hold prime , installed back and it loses prim ,what the heck.

If you try pushing the primer a few times once the filter is primed and the bleeder is closed does the primer get hard to push like its building some pressure?
Also how long did you let it crank for?

So you plugged the line out of the filter head and it held prime. The CP3 sucks from the filter, so it sounds like you have a leak (air in, not fuel out) between the filter head and the CP3. Coming out of the filter head is a soft line and would be the first thing I would replace (it's old anyway).

This is one reason some of us have installed a lift pump. If a leak develops, you would smell/see the leaking diesel. Stock, you simply lose prime and can't find the leak.
