LLY randomly lose boost

So I have a 05 LLY and recently I have been having an issue with the truck.

When I driving it everything seems to be going fine, no codes or anything. When I come up to a stop and try to accelerate again it stops building boost and drives from the motor alone at about 2000-2500 rpm’s for 15-30seconds before the boost will randomly come back and the truck will take off.

it doesn’t throw any codes or a check engine like nor a reduced power light.

i have checked the vane position sensor wires to see if they maybe shorting out but seem to not be rubbing on anything.
And help would be greatly appreciated!

It’s a 2005 2500 reg cab 4x4 silverado, no mods have been done to it, bone stock
I would plug in a tech 2 scanner or compatible scanner that can read the live data and watch your boost levels and manually activate the turbo vanes to verify they are functioning
I would check everything from the air filter to the turbo including all the intercooler piping. Pressure test the whole intake plumbing. It should throw a code or five for this, but won't if you MAF or intake pressure/temp sensors get wonky. If someone before you used ether or starting fluid, it would have ruined the sensors.

Diesels die, sensors lie.

My truck does the exact same thing. When the turbo is functioning properly, plenty of boost. Then is sometimes acts like it just doesn't respond, no or maybe 7-10 psi boost. Then it'll magically kick in and zoom up to 20psi.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?
When it gets down to 10% remaining life.
