i have limped my lly for the 4th time tonight, but have never gotten any check engine light. it felt like it wasnt shifting from 2nd into 3 right, like it was holding the 2nd gear longer. i think its because my fuel filter needs to be changed. but shouldnt i be getting codes when i limp? just hope its not the trans.

have you ever limped the trans on level 1 with the juice attitude set up? i didnt think that would have enough power to hurt my trans.

I'd try changing the fuel filter. Unless your tranny has been abused, I wouldn't think it would slip on level 1. If you have a way to check codes, look for a p1093 or p1094.

some codes dont set an ses light, your truck may be limping from p1093s, they only way to find out what really is going on it to read the codes with a tech2 or any other diagonstic tool.

Clear the codes, & disconnect the edge. Drive it and see if it goes into limp mode!

sometime to get the code you have to limp until you hit the rev limiter at the same time that your tc is slipping. If you let off the throttle fast when you feel or watch on the speedo the begining of the slip you can avoid the code and the stuck on one gear but you are still limping the trans.

I just had the exact same problem. Changed the fuel filter and all is well. It's the cold weather that gelled the fuel. My code was a P1033. Once the filter was replaced all was well....except for my wallet - $138 for the dealer to replace OUCH!

I had this problem twice in the first 10 days (first time was in the 1st 12 hours I had it). Dealer found problem to be in the throttle body and was replaced. Nearly 40k later, no problems.
