I pulled that rod and piston passenger side #3 cylinder and found that the Piston is cracked symmetrical across the wrist pin boss on both sides up at an angle to the oil control ring groove completely across the one side of the Piston.

have you Inspected the crankshaft and mains for cracks?

Yes, the crank and all the main webs are crack free. I haven't had that rod checked for twist or if it's bent. I am thinking I should, although it is look as if the Piston took the brunt of the damages.

I would check that also.
It could be a manufacturing defect that reared its ugly head or an actual problem within the motor:confuzeld

Installed all new rod bearings while in there and deglazed that cylinder new rings and piston going in.

Rebuilt head back on and torqued down.
