I didn't start this thread. You're on your own in here.

I think if any more questions arise. bballer182 should answer them since its his baby.
You seem to have a pretty good grasp on this mod. I have no problems with people who actually know what's going on, answering questions.

If you wanted to use an illuminated toggle switch I'm sure that would be fine. However it would only tell you if the switch was turned on. It would not tell you when the engine braking program was actually being commanded by the PCM.

If you want the light to come on only when the vehicle is actually using the engine braking program then you need to wire the light in as shown in the schematic, it needs to be its own circuit.
Thanks Bro, its nice to get a strait answer. I hope I can help you out sometime.

How's that crow tasting?
After 3 pages you comment on that? And for what purpose? You seem to have little man syndrome. I nor do you know everything and I never claimed to, however that was a feature I believed EFI Live was the only way to get to work.

Yeah, I agree. I like his idea on this mod but the attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Forums are supposed to be about helping each other. But, not everyone has that inside them...too bad.

I didnt start this thread, in fact I didn't even know it was here until 2 days ago when another member linked this thread from the "How To" thread. You can think whatever it is you want to think about me, because i could give a rats a$$ what you or anyone else on an internet forum think. Fact of the matter is, I provided the knowledge freely to the public and posted it on a couple of forums to better the community. Did I go into super great detail with pictures of every single movement my fingers made? Nope. There are a few other threads with GREAT detail on how to take apart and install pins in the ECM connectors, so I decided not to be redundant and let the end user do a little work. I refuse to spoon feed the people that ask for everything and put ZERO effort into doing a little research for them selves. I provides the pages from the upfitter manual and every resource I used in order to do this mod. So, if you or anyone else can't figure it out, tough tatas. Maybe someone else will come around who likes spoon feeding the lazy. I'm completely fine with that, its not my cut of tea.

Lazy has nothing to do with it. Some members lack mechanical/electrical ability to figure these things out. To you it may not seem like brain surgery, but to others, it is. Be happy that you have the ability and resources to figure this stuff out, and try to have a little compassion for those who don't.

I'll agree with you that some lack the skills necessary to figure/do things like this out. However, the things that I get tired of are people who jump in on a thread that is only a few pages long and ask a question that has already been answered a time or multiple times on the same page or one page back. Reading and researching information that has already been published should be a requirement. That's the laziness that I refer to. I always try to search things out to the best of my ability first in a forum then Google, if I don't find what I'm looking for I'll post a topic asking about it, or post in a thread that is similar in my questions.

I wasn't only talking about not helping I was talking about your attitude. pretty sure you don't get it. Peace

You can read between the lines all you want. Fact of the matter is, I have way better things to be doing than hopping on here every other hour and answer a bunch of questions. When I posted this I expected there would be a few guys that would hang around and help out. And, there are. So if I don't get around to answering a direct question, oh well. Someone else will probably hop in and answer it. Maybe this mod is too much for you and you should just sell your rig and move on to something more simple, like a unicycle. And if you think my post about the other guy eating crow is being a d1ck, maybe people shouldn't answer questions when they don't know the correct answer. Too many people think they know stuff when the only "knowledge" they have has been gleaned from the internets, and then regurgitated.

Wow I truly feel sorry for you. Your attitude is really for the birds.

x 1million...do your homework, get frustrated and figure it out...don't wish/want and complain people don't post enough pictures...dive in and figure it out...if you're not of that mindset these forums are not for you. they are not for the guy who don't know d1ck about diesels and just wants someone to answer all there questions without having to put in any effort...just self entitled, lazy individuals.

and DuraB and 4SpeedDave...quit your whining you sound like a couple of douches...if you want to work on duramaxs your at the right forum...if you want to work on peoples attitude go over to dr phils forum. seriously someone is offering great advice and you comment on the attitude? the best advice i ever get is from the old fart down the road but the advice always comes with a stiff dose of hard headed, racist, suborn, slightly crazy attitude...I graciously accept the advice and thank him for the help even if I have to bite my tongue a little. the funny thing is i thought only efi could turbo brake on LBZs and was going to comment accordingly but someone beat me to the punch. when i was proven wrong, even if accompanied with some ribbing, i would thank them and not let my sense of embarrassment influence my response. you were wrong, got called on it, ain't no big deal...move on. you think if you make some snide remark to bballer he's gonna break down and have a hard look in the mirror and change the core of who he is so the random guys on the internet forum will say he provides help with a nice attitude? :shake:

Lol. Couldn't have said it better. Anyways. Funny thing is I'm actually a nice guy and like answering legit questions people have. And, I'm more than happy to share the mod I discovered with everyone. My original post in the DIY may have been short and some people may interpret it as having an attitude, when in fact there was no intended attitude. Like I said before I have way better things to be doing than hopping on here every other hour and answering peoples' request for pics. I have a wife and kid who just had her first birthday and I have a full time+ job and in my spare time I dabble in gunsmithing. I'm sure someone will come along someday and post some pics for me/the community. But when someone can't take one little ribbing (from the internet mind you), and someone else says there isn't enough positive attitude in this mod by the creator I just have to wonder how people deal with/survive life. Even if there was attitude, who the F cares. Do the mod and be happy with self accomplishment, you did something to your truck very few people even know about....geez....

Wow! I only wanted to make sure this mod was worth my time to do, I had no idea it would start such a scrap.
Lol. If you tow anything, it is. Pretty darn cool.

It sounds like a good modification, I really don't tow anything and the most weight I put in it is my camper and I use the tow mode very rarely, so I guess it wouldn't be that much of a benefit to me.

I like the idea though and I'm one of those who didn't know it even existed. It is a good thing to keep in mind for the future.
