So me and a buddy BJ raced last Saturday. He has an 06 Ext Short bed with MBRP 4" and the new quadzilla 135hp tune. He told me he had it on 90hp so I put my Edge Juice on level 4 to match up. Check out my sig to see what I got. We raced and I pulled out of the hole about a 1/4 truck and then he was gone, he passed me quickly and then he stayed about 3 trucks ahead of me. Come to find out he had it in 4 HI and that thing left frickin hard(obviously). He'll probably get a kick outta this story since he didn't tell me until about 20 minutes later he used 4 HI and had is tuner on 135 HP. So the next time I put mine on level 5 and pulled hard on his butt. Showed him what the ole LB7 will do. Moral of the story is cheaters never win. HA

This is what I found out this past weekend. I can get two truck lengths on a stock LBZ to 95mph with mine on level 2. Mine SHOULD be 330hp and his IS 360hp. Go figure.

he is at 360 at the flywheel. you would be more like 370 at the flywheel since you start at 300 and at a 60rwhp tune. at the wheels you are both probably very even power wise.

Your torque is probably way over his with a tunner too I would bet Scotty.

Driving both.....while my old LB7 had more top end and would out run this one but this thing spools instantly and is just plain nasty outa the hole. This one on papaer is only down a bit on the old LB7 with the Xtreme. The throttle response of the LBZ is amazing.....its like driving a gasser. And I honestly thought my LB7 wasnt bad for spool up time.

Level 2 is 20% of the total output of the Six-Gun w/Speedloader, which would be +31hp. I dynoed level 2 and got +39.5hp/+104.8tq. This would give me 340hp/625tq at the flywheel, to his 360hp/650tq. This is why we thought he would squeeze me out, especially with the six speed auto to my five speed. FWIW, both trucks are the same configuration, gearing and tire size. The other mod he has done is a 5" cat-back Bullydog exhaust.

Interesting

the 6th gear wont help any.....its just a double OD.....everything else is the same.

Did you jump him outa the hole or was it a slow continuous pull? I could see the tuned truck being fueled harder down low so it would get the jump in the lower r's.....

Interesting none the less.

Carbon talked about running a tuned truck that was tuned higher than the LBZ's rated numbers and edging the tuned truck out with his stock LBZ. Just going off memory

Good kill though and way to whoop up on the cheater :D

friends of mine with lly trucks will jump me out of the hole if we go from a dead pedal. I will then pull by them by 3rd gear. BTW this was with both of us running predator on 40hp only. if we go bossted I will leave them right away and then pull further ahaed slowly. I think stock turbo to stock turbo the lb7 builds boost slower but higher in the end.

You are just adding the added rwhp to the flywheel hp, that is incorrect. You have to add about 15-20% to the 39.5 and 104.8 numbers to get your new flywheel hp and tq. So at a 20% increase the new FWHP is 347.4, and the FWTQ is 645.8. But this is just a guestimate, without pulling the engine, and running it on an engine dyno, there is no way of knowing the real flywheel numbers.

It was a slow continuous pull from the start.

If I GAINED 39.5 rwhp over stock numbers, that would be added to the flywheel hp. Stock rwhp was 263.3 and on level 2 it was 302.8. Driveline power loss is the same no matter what hp/tq you're at.
