I’m looking at a 2006 LB7 duramax to throw in my 1958 Apache. The engines $950 cash, what are things I should look for when I go to see it.
Welcome to DieselPlace

If it is a complete donor I would inspect the engine harness for wear, check for fuel in oil using the paper towel test, check for any cooling system contamination. and check to see if it runs/drives
Check for any broken/missing glow plugs.
Pump up the primer button on the fuel filter housing and let it sit while you check other things.. When you are almost finished recheck the primer button and if it is soft you'll need to rebuild or replace the filter housing.

If it is an incomplete donor you'll need to figure out what the donor has vs. what you'll need for the build..
