Are they giving you 27,000 for the trade? I think I read that right. $42,560 seems a little high compared to the list price.

You should be able to get the new one for less. Sticker on my 2006 was $47,8XX, got it for $38,500 and they threw in the camper mirrors for free.
Here's a tip, try to find the truck listed online in the dealer's inventory and request a price quote. Most dealers have an internet sales guy that doesn't work on commission and they typically quote invoice price.

Spoke with the dealer again ,he said that they have no more room to work.425XX.XX was it, maybe a couple hundred dollars. That is only 4000.00 off list and thatis high. seems as though 6 to 8 K of list is more like it. salesman says someone else will pay what they want.

As you leave the showroom, tell the salesman that next time you see him with vehicle trouble at the side of the busy road.....during rush hour traffic, "someone else will help him" as you drive by in your new diesel truck that you bought at another dealer. :p:

I think markup on that truck should be around $4500-$5500 they still have rebates and some hold back they can play with. I'm sure you can get a much better deal with a dealer that wants to make a little off a lot of sales instead of allot off of just a few sales. Usually the dealers that push volumn have the best service departments.

Is this a good deal

Looking to buy the 07, been reading up on diesel,i was quoted a price a little over invoice for the 2500 HD Ls3. Worried that there are some recalls. Power Steering Hose fractures, burning to much oil and also wondering if diesel is the way to go. Might be a stupid question to you all, but any reason not to go that way.

Talk to another dealer, tell them your situation, price etc... Ask if they can do any better. If that is the truck you want they might be able to work out a dealer trade or that other dealer might come down in risk of losing your business.

They have to have some hold back coming from GM. Are you trading in the Dodge you presently own?

I'm glad the hear you can get near invoice, but isn't that also just a markup from the factory to the dealer. I wonder how much below invoice they get for and what about the end of the month. Everybody likes to move product. But the bottom line is everybodies basically happy about owning this big bad truck. One last thing, if I'm up in vermont alot and it's 20 below should I worry

Go to the dodge dealer and see what they would give you as trade for your old truck. If you can come to a decent number on that, it gives a good target. My new truck came in 39700 before rebates on gm supplier. Sticker was 44+. The tough part is always getting decent trade but they will try to hide a low trade with a high new vehicle price.
