What would be the best bang for $1000 in upgrades. I tow medium weight 7 or 8 times a year and the truck gets driven about twice a month otherwise. Thanks

It sounds like you have enough truck to do what you need to do already. Gauges are always a safe investment. Otherwise, I'd say you're neglecting the "fun" potential of your truck. If you want one of these on your face :)D ) after you spend your $1000, I'd say get a set of guages and a tuner.

You'll probabaly get the urge to drive the truck more than twice a month though.:

With $1000. you could almost buy guages a programer and exhaust.

With your use, I would get upgrades that would improve the truck's durability.

With $1,000 I would upgrade the Allison transmission with a TransGo shift kit, flush it and fill it with TranSynd synthetic fluid.

I would also get a secondary fuel filter and if there is anything left over, I would get gages (EGT, Boost & Engine Oil Temp).

I don't need them yet at this time.

But when I do, AirLift and Firestone are the ones I read about the most around here. They seem to work very well in these trucks.
