Hypertech PP3 code 91

I bought a pp3 off fleabay for 100 bucks, good deal, right? Plugged it in and it comes to code 91. Called hypertech and they said the last guy never programmed his truck back to stock settings, so now I have a pp3 that contains all the stock settings and will not work on any other truck until the last truck is put back to stock. The tech said there is nothing that they can do with it, other than trade it in on a new unit and get credit for 100 $, probably because they just want to sell me a new one. I totally understand there point of view. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a remedy for my pp3, other than trade in value?:help:
