I just finished a fluid and filter change (to TES-295). Level is just below the hot "low" mark so I need to add a bit.

How much fluid is required to go from the "low" mark to the "high" mark? I don't want to over-fill.

Lots of posts about this. When hot, been driving around for 20 minutes or more, fluid should be at the bottom of the hot hash marks.

I did a lot of searching, but didn't find any reference to amount of fluid. I have about a half quart left and I was wondering if that was enough.

I guess I will have to use the "add, check, repeat" method. No heavy towing until Labor Day weekend.

For a future search on this topic, I found this in the 2013 Duramax supplement:
"The width of the HOT RUN band represents approximately 1.0L (1.06 qt) of fluid at normal operating temperature."

You will want to be on the low mark when hot.
Operate the transmission in DRIVE (D) until the
normal operating temperature of 160°F (71°C) to
200°F (93°C) is reached
