How many quarts of coolant does a 6.5 hold? 95 Suburban. Will the coolant drain completely out from the pet****? I'm going to run some cleaner thru before changing out the water pump this weekend.

About 4.5 IIRC, I usually use 2 jugs of anitfreeze and fill the rest with distilled.

I don't recall how many quarts, you should be able to look in the manual or somewhere online for capacities. The pet**** wont drain all the coolant, but you'll get a good percentage of it if you leave the cap on the rad and the overflow tank.

Capacity is 26.5 quarts. Some will always remain in the engine when you drain it.

LOL quarts, not quartz. Did my radiator flush two days ago...2 jugs of antifreeze, 2 more of water. And a 180 t stat....never knew my temps could be so low. I highly advise you upgrade to the 180 over the stock 195. Especially if you tow.

Each 6.5 is different. I know mine holds 7.xx gallons for a full flush.

OK ... PINTS I understand. Beer comes in pints :)

We got litres up here... it's like a quart. Same thing except different.
Better break out that conversion calculator..........:D :D
And that beer comes in Pints thing is really based on where you are geographically located, but it all drinks the same.:beerchug:

OOps, sorry to hijack. Did we at least answer his question?

I know what I posted is based on my truck, or should I say 6.5 as requested.:D The beer and rocks were just a bonus:cool:
Not to mention, I never liked the term "check your manual" but I guess if he did, he would not get the bonus material;)
