121K or 221K or 321K. I'm not sure because my truck has a five place odometer (for whatever reason). Judging by the rest of the truck, I'm gonna say probably 221,000, even though the guy who sold it to me signed off the title as 121K (he didn't really know). Still runs good!

GM didnt start the 6 place odometer until 88, I think, when they switched body style. I know there are 6 place odometers out there for the earlier body, as the 88 and newer blazers/suburbans had them.

86 1 TON 4WD just replaced original turbo 350 tranny with a stout turbo 400 and the motor has 427,857 miles when I parked it tonite. Only thing ever done to it was a water pump, 1 injector, and regular maintance. I run it every day to take care of the 9500 head of swine that we grow.
Gimme a "HELL YEA!!!" for the all mighty 6.2L Detroit Diesel:ro) :grd:

1983 G20 van with a 6.2 (obviously) and a 700R4... on its 2nd:rad, water pump, intake manifold, starter and injection pump... 3rd: set of glow plugs, heater core, hoses, ball joints and 4th steering gear... 7th or 8th alternator and ~13th transmission. Otherwise, still stock. Not too much mileage i think about 565k still gets about 17mpg and doesn't burn a drop of oil between oil changes and it fires up first try every day (even when its sub freezing outside).

your 1 ton truck came with a TH350?
Had us fooled too, we've owned it since it was brand new, must've been a flaw on GMs part and my grandpa didn't care when he bought it, just so it got the job done, and it has now for 20 years and going strong.:ro)

My '89 Silverado diesel now has over 500,000 miles on it. Just replaced the injection pump with a "NEW" one. No rust, dents, interior in very good condition. Room for 5 "MEN", 8 foot bed, and 1,500# factory rear springs. Still drives "Like New". Gets 25 mpg highway. So 900 miles on a fill up. Uses about a quart of oil in 1,000 miles. I turned down an offer of $10,000 last year! What the "L" could I buy with that???

I have a 87 6.2 diesel with 400K/248,000 miles on it that I removed from my 96 K1500 as it can use a rebuild. The exhaust ports were wet because of worn guides and seals and compression is probably down a little but I have it on a engine stand awaiting machine work, etc.I will probably get to it someday but its on hold for now.

A member that used to be on here named jdemaris had a 6.2 with 520,000 miles on it when it broke the crank because the block had cracks that spread from the main caps to the camshaft bearings which then allowed the crank to flex and that was the end of it.

I recently bought a 90 Suburban with 6.2l, 700R4, and 4WD. The odometer reads 295K miles but doesn't work and the PO doesn't know how long it was broken. Fairly confident it is over 300k. Runs and drives good. Bit weathered.
