You will need to get one it plugs into the box under the dash on the top row second from the left. Most hitch stores will have one.

what about putting slide on terminals on the ends of the wires and putting them on where the harness would go?

You would be better off just getting harness for that controller for 10.00 dollars and plug in under dash board.

Take it to the dealer and be done with it.

get the harness, and it is basically a plug and play, plus a mount to the metal strip under the dash

what year model are you talking about putting this break controller on?

I did't think the harness came with the truck until around the 2000 model.?? I know my 1998 model didn't have one, I had to hard wire the break controller. I tapped into the break wire in the harness under the dash. IIRC it was a white wire..
