I just use random 15W40, follow or exceed the OLM, and I've got them with 200k, 250k, and 300k miles, with no oil related issues.
On the other hand, I've got a '20 2500 6.6 gasser, with less than 60k miles, that uses a quart every 1000 miles.

Well i have a 97 6.5 dsl ,only had 15w40 oil in since day 1, with 740,000 miles,finally had to replace vavle cover gasket sealer,no gaskets on valve cover from factory.Still purrs,lol
