Search didnt reveal anything specific to an '02. Has anyone tried the '02 high-idle mod by grounding pin B-7 and/or B-8 of the 24-pin brown connector on the PCM?
If so, how well does it work for you? And does the engine warm up significantly faster at high idle?
Just wondering if it is worthwhile, before I go out and suffer in the cold trying to make the mod.

Grounding pin B-7 increases RPM to 1360.
Grounding pin B-8 increases RPM to 1070.
Grounding both pins increases RPM to 1600.
While in Park or Neutral.

High idle(s) can be enabled/disabled with switches. See page 35.

I'm not sure about that process, I followed the instructions from Kennedy Diesel on mine and it works flawlessly. I have a toggle switch from the battery to enable, and use the cruise-set function to get 1250 rpm and cruise-resume to get 1700 rpm. Took me about an hour to do. I leave it plugged in at night and high idle it after the glow plugs shut off for about 5 minutes. Works like a charm.

So, by tying into the green/white wire at the brake pedal the high idle must be set with the cruise each time you want it right?

when you tie into the white green wire you have to have the cruise on and hit the "set" button twice to get the 1200 rpm and then the "accel" button to get 1750 rpms. very simple install

Do you know how to do the hi idle on a 2001 6.6 any help would be gratefull
merchant aka gmdieseltech.com for the kit, $10.00, then kennedy diesel for the instructions, skip the switch part, just piggyback the wire with a crimp connector to the green/white wire on the brake pedal switch.

Seriously on of the most liked and used mods by me, and cheap and easy.

While you've got stuff apart, do the all headlights on mod as well, another 30 cent fix for better lighting.

just go to the dealer and get the little metal pen that inserts into the computer. just a dollar or so. get some smaller wire and soder the pin to one end. plug it into the computer and run the wire into the green/white wire at the brake switch. your done.

Mike, The link to kennedydiesel.com provided by modified should fix you up with all the info you need to get the job done. I used that info to put it on my 02 and am happy with the results. Works as advertised, and it's hard to beat the price!:)
