I know there are a few of you in the 6.5 forum.

Anyway, I met some dewd, a friend of a friend, who has 94 Cummins truck.

Couple of questions. I havent looked under the hood of this thing, just heard it, and it sounds like a turd. I didnt hear a turbo spool of it, whats the factory boose supposed to be and what controls the wastegate?

Also, can anything be done to bump the fuel up on it, that doesnt involve some sort of swap?

More fuel, and black smoke

oh yeah. The cummins then used a P7100 fuel injection pump. There is a screw on the pump that can alter fuel delivery. You can get enough fuel to have a meltdown at WOT. Better have a EGT, open exhaust and open intake. You can get even more fuel with new delivery valves(which are not expensive), change the fuel pump spacer plate(not expencive)(or shave the thickness yourself). the other problem is defueling at upper RPM. So new governer springs.

So there is a screw on the low pressure pump? Would I screw it in or out to increase delivery? He has intake/exhaust already and is getting gauges within a week or 2.

are you sure the '94 has the P7100? They had a rotary pump before the inline. I don't remember what year it changed though.

94 is the year of P7100

There is a star wheel that controls WHEN the fuel comes in, not an increase in fuel delivery. If you want more low end fueling rotate it towards the engine. It will move forward in the hole. The farther forward, the more low end fueling.

The Star wheel is located in the AFC housing. If you are looking at the top of the injection pump, lets say chest leaning against the drivers side fender...you will have the injection lines, then a domed housing with a plug in the top of it. The plug will have an 8mm Allen head in it. The starwheel is under that plug. Be sure you don't loose the sealing washer under the plug.

As for boost, stock is at 18 psi. Is it a Man, or Auto??? Mmmmmmmmm cummins:grd:

its an auto i believe.

so when i twist that starwheel, the housing should move forward, towards the radiator? So it kinda looks like starwheel is moving back?

No the housing won't move. The star wheel will rotate towards the engine and as it rotates it will move towards the radiator.
The top picture shows the Star wheel in the AFC housing, as the housing is cut away. The bottom one is the same cut away, but it shows the rest of the injection pump so you can see what you are dealing with.
