How do you get the oh sh*t handle off the headliner? I cant get the handle off the pass side

so I cant get my freaking headliner off. I would really like to get it off tonight so I can continue with my blinky light install. TIA

1. 
   <LI =1>Lower the right side of the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement .
   
   
   
   
   <LI =1>Turn the retainers in the directions as shown in the graphic and then remove the retainers.
   <LI =1>Remove the assist handle from the headliner. </LI>

<H5>Installation Procedure</A></H5>

   <LI =1>Install the assist handle through the opening in the headliner.
   <LI =1>While holding the assist handle to the head liner install the retainer in the direction as shown in the graphic.
   <LI =1>Install the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement . </LI>
