hey guys i have a 1998 chevy 1500 pickup with a leaking heatercore how hard is it to change can i do it my self? thanx for any info

Easy as can be, EXCEPT one screw. Take the heater hoses off under hood. Then remove the 8 to 10 ish, 7mm screws from the bottom of the evap case (pass side bottom cover). There is one screw about 3 inches from the firewall right where the case bottom turns at the back side of the case, that is a total PITA. You can't see it, only your fingers can feel it. Once all the screws are out, just pull the bottom cover out and the heater core is right there. One screw holds the heater core in place and out it goes. When you go back together with it, misteriously loose that one screw that was a PITA to get out.:)

use a 7mm 1/4 drive swivel socket, pull the floormat(carpet) and insulation out of the way for a wee bit more room
