My sister has a 2002 Chevrolet Trailbalzer.. very intermittently the heated seats will turn themseleves on when you start the car with the remote start. I don't believe it has anything to do with the remote start that was just installed . Also the altenator was just replaced and the problem seemed to be noticed after this. Need so advice as to wear to look and fix this problem.

I was having the same problem on mine. I took it to the dealership and they did a reflash. It was still doing it so I took it to the alarm shop and they made it a 2 button process to activate heated seats and no problems since.

but, I talked with the installer and he is unaware of this problem. He has never come across it. He has wired numerous GM's and this is news to him. I even asked about of the temp is below a certain temp and he said I had to look at the control module and not the remote start. The remote start is made by Auto Mate.

what type of remote start do you have? some of the astros have a feature that turns the heated seats on when it get below a certain tempature

It's an Auto Mate as stated above.

in talking with the installer who has done numerous remote starts even he has never heard of this problem and that's what has me stumped?????
