my instruments.... pioneer stereo, 10" memphis sub powered by 400 watt amp. i want to change factory speakers, but someone told me i will need another amp. they aslo said my bose speakers i have now are being powered by there own built in amp. is not my pioneer reciever amp providing the power to the factory speakers now? i just want aftermarket speakers, any opinions?

An amp would make teh speakers sound better, but if you're swapping out all the OEM speakers, then the amp is not required. You'll have to change the harness behind the radio. Just use the standard harness that's about $10 and you can sell the Bose adaptor you have. Once you change the harness then the radio will be powering the speakers.
