Hey all

Just got my first diesel and am having troubles. After running my 1995 GMC Sierra 6.5 on the interstate for about 2 hours I pulled off to feed. When stopping at the stop sign the truck died and did not want to restart. A local mechanic saved the day by spraying wd40 into the intake as I cranked with the throttle wide open. It started but didn't want to hold idle. I managed to keep it alive and then after about minutes of babying it would hold idle. Everytime I got off the interstate again the cycle would repeat itself. The fuel filter which showed nothing obvious coming out of it but I replaced it anyway.

Fill out your signature per the welcome note and then go down the diagnostic checklist. Odds are you have a bad lift pump or Oil Pressure Switch.
