Hey all, Just wanted to see if anyone had this happen. I have the BM turn over goose hitch and today when I was all hooked up and loaded I got a grinding sliding clunck when accelerating. It also made the same noise when I was braking at a light.Noise seems to be coming near hitch area. Trailer is brand new, the setscrew on neck is snug and the hitch appears to be tight and I don't see any slide marks on frame. I had a 11k load and trailer weight is 9k, which is pretty average for me. This is an intermittent noise. I do know I have to get air bags, as this trailer brings the back down lower than I like. Thanks

Better make sure your pin is locked fully in hitch ball some times they can be tricky if you get some road sand in them the keeper pin might not slide in to place , also try some grease on hitch ball Good luck

X2 Grease the ball. I agree, it's an erie sound that metal / metal squeak that really sounds like somethings going to give.

Grease makes all the difference...for my squeak.

I know this sounds stupid but are you sure you locked the plate on the ball and also locked the slider pin on the truck itself? I flipped my ball over into the bed, didnt push the pin through it one time and had a rough road ahead. It bouncing around back there sounded at times like a jackhammer.

You said the trailer is new with A setscrew. It sounds like the new style Bulldog with a single setscrew and a 3/4 pin, instead of two setscrews like the old style had. The problem we've had with the new stlye is the holes for the pin are 7/8 so it does very little to stabalize the coupler. That leaves one screw instead of the usual two. Ride in the front of the bed and have someone rock the truck back and forth and see if there is movement.

Or maybe it just needs grease on the ball.:D

The set screw is tight. I have towed a trailer with a loose neck and it is very consistent noise wise. This noise was strange, almost sounded like a trans slip, but when I braked and heard a similiar noise I knew it was not that. The ball is always greased. I know that goofy squeeky sound.

Maybe try re-torquing the bolts. That U bolt design I am not overly wild about. Other thing is to check that the egg shaped slugs that go in the back holes in the frame are set. I know it takes some tinkering to get them just right. Good luck
