What is considered good compression for a '94 6.5TD F ? We did a quick check on 2 cylinders just to verify that they were the same. We got a reading of about 350 with the engine cold, we just did it quick to make sure the intake valve we lapped in seated ok. It measured the same as the cylinder beside it. My guage did drop off some too before I got out there to read it so I'm sure it was considerably higher. We'll probably warm it up and check it once I get my gauge to hold pressure. I was just curious...
Thanks

That's good - actual test specs at least 8 crank rotations per cyl.

DO NOT USE OIL TO FUDGE THE TEST :uhoh2: :wtf: - yer engine runs on oil, iirc.............. :smashfrea

Better test is to plumb up the gage so it's leak-free, pump it up and leave it for a bit - if it leaks rite down, something isn't sealing, rings, valves, etc.

All cyls should be within 25psi of all the rest.

???????

Never checked a cold engine but on warm they usually come up over 400PSI.
