Has any one had GMC warranty issues where they did not want to fix something due to the fact you have installed after market products on your vehicle. I want to install the Edge Juice - Attitude, but am concerned about problems with being denied warranty.

Remove it when you go to the dealer and never volunteer any information. My dealer is cool with it but don't push it if you don't know.

Exactly what Max said...removed it and play stupid. I have a custom tune and the Edge/Attitude. When it goes to the dealer for anything, the edge comes out and I don't offer any information. "You've got some codes thrown"...I say, "Huh, how's that happen??" They can't pin anything on you beside speculation so they play the cop routine and fish for details (no offense to police officers, I love you guys)!:ro)​

:exactly: I had the service manager tell me if they see or know you put any reprogrammer in the truck good bye warranty

Good answers. I will remove the attitude as well. What about the pyro probe in the exhaust. Any suggestions on that one or it should not be a problem.

tell them you had a pyro when you first got the truck to see if everything was in check when you were towing. You found everything to be normal so your remove the gauge.

I had an issue where I forgot to remove the attitude, but removed the main from under the hood. Service Manager said they would void my warranty and put a call into the regional GM service manager. I went through the roof. I ended up escalating the issue to the the dealership owner and they backed down. AVOID the hastle! Remove and deny!!!! Unfortuantely the service manager lost his job because of the way he handled the issue. I never meant for that to happen.

I have read that some people are concerned about having installed pyrometers and boost gages. I have installed a pyrometer and boost gage. I have not intention of removing these for any work done by a dealer. These are simply gages to monitor the engine. There is absolutely no reason to justify having them. For a warranty to be void it must be proven that the change caused the failure. I also plan on putting a 4 or 5" exhaust on. There is no way this should void a warranty either - this is better for the engine. The service manager at the dealer confirmed this when I asked about cranking the torsion bars and put on the big tires. Just my 2 cents.

I have pyro and boost gauge and told the service writer to drive my truck and see how he like the power from the predator...Each dealer is different and you just have to feel them out on the mods..My dealer does not care about the mods.

:exactly: I asked one of the service advisors before I got my truck lifted along with all the mods if it would be a problem with the warranty and he said no. A yr later I return to the dealer for some minor repairs and the service advisor remembered me and told me the truck looked good and it was well lifted. I was like super! He started checking out my edge and exhaust and said, "this is what I want to do to my duramax". I was like you will not regret it.

Just Spent A Bunch With My Dealer. Installed A 4" Exhaust From Turbo Back.( Off Road Only ) Took The Cat Off And Did All The Work.
Service Writer Want To Know Why I Did Not Have A Tune Installed.. Mentioned Warranty Problems With Gm! He Said Not Hear! WAS TOLD TO INSTALL BOOST AND PYRO GAUGES IF I PUT IN A TUNE..
Guess I Have A Keeper For Now!!

My dealer in Ga. Installed my tunner my guages Silverline exhaust and only thing he told me was take the tuner off if you go to another dealer.

What I don't understand is where do some dealers get off voiding warranities and others don't. This is a GM national warranty and the dealers are paid by GM for the warranty work they do. They should all be working under the same rules.

I mean, what right does a Service Manager have to make the call for GM? Just who is it that gave them the authority?

A Service Manager refused to do work I felt was warrantied and he wouldn't so I took it over his head and GM directed him to perform the needed tranny inspection. GM was more then happy to accomodate my wishes were the SM would not. That manager was pissed. I say tough sh&* and get over it. Customers have more cloat then you think.

Do not hesitate to challenge a Service Manager, they are nothing more then the first bump in the road and most people tend to give up there and that is what they are banking on; Don't. It's kind of like Mail-In Rebates, they don't have to pay out unless you jump through their hoops.

WELL MY DEALER IS IN DES MOINES ,IA.. BOONE DOCKS USA..
THE ONES I WORKED FOR IN SOUTHERN CALIF FIGUERED THEY GOT TO SEE A CUSTOMER ONCE! AND WE WERE TO STICK IT TO THEM. IF THEY CAME BACK AND COMPLAINED THEY WERE ESCORTED OFF THE PROPERTY..
THATS WHY I LEFT ALONG WITH ALL THE GANG AND RACE CRAP..

I had a dealer say they wouldn't replace a vibrating side mirror because I had a bug deflector on and it "disrupted the airflow around the mirror" What a bunch of crap!
