Hey Guys,

I have a 2001 Sierra 2500HD with the 8 foot bed. I found some GM bed rail protectors I like but it says they only fit the 2003-07 trucks? Is the bed really different on the 1999-2002 trucks? Or is the description just wrong? Maybe the stake pocket shape or location?

Let me know what you think

Thanks

I do know the 8' bed on my 2005 Silverado 2500HD is exactly the same as the 8' bed on my 2001 Sierra 2500HD?

I just ordered a set of those bed rail protectors for my 2003 HD 2500. Haven’t received them yet. I think all the 8’ beds are the same from at least 1999 thru mid 2007 when they changed the body style.

Ok great! Please let me know how it goes.

I did noticed a 2006 Silverado 1500 short bed has a different bed rail top. It is notched down slightly so the rail protector fits flush on the bed side transition.

I finally got around to installing the factory bed rail protectors on 2003, 2005 HD with a 8’ bed. Went very easy just followed the instructions that were included with them. I added another 1/4 in. Strip of double sided tape to the length each protector And I did what Heymccall suggested by heating the tape up with a heat gun until the red backing film started to get curly

I ordered a set. I just can't get very excited over the aftermarket bed rail cover options out there.
