Just had my truck at the dealer for cold start problems. Took two cycles of the key to get the truck to start, then ran very rough and excessive smoke. Dealer said cold start check showed glow plugs bad. My question is how long should the glow plugs last the truck is just getting to 52000 miles??? Thanks inadvance for your replies.

I've already had two replaced (I'm at 51,000).

I have 215,000 miles on my 2001 duramax and the glow plugs still work the same since day one, i would say there is somthing deff not right here! but every truck has there weaknesses.
