My brother has a 2006 LBZ with 84K miles and he broke off the #8 Glow Plug off at the base while trying to replace. Attempted to remove the rest of the Glow Plug and broke an "easy-out" off inside the Glowplug base.

My questions:

Any suggestions to getting the Glow Plug out in this current condition?

Also, I was wondering if there is any way to bypass the Glow Plug to make the computer think the plug was still active and healthy? Like taking the #8 wire and attaching it to the #6 wire. Or adding an inline resistor to mimick the glow plug.

I just don't know how this glow plug system operates.

Or can I just put the new #8 glow plug inside a larger diameter tube, and attach the wires to it? Is there a sensor that can tell if the Glow Plug is operational? Can I feed a signal of some type to it to make the CEL go off?

Bottom line, we are trying to make the CEL go off and stay off. Dont really care about the functionality of the Glow Plug.

Thanks in advance,
