The 24v's suffered from a poorly designed lift pump which can kill a vp-44 injection pump. The earliest ones 98.5 and 99 had the possibility of a KDP failure. Probably the biggest thing to look out for is a 53 block. The castings were thin and prone to cracking. If you get one put a fuel pressure gauge on it as soon as you can. If the pressure ever goes below 5psi replace the lift pump or upgrade to a better one.
