Hey everyone i was wondering what can cause low fuel pressure.

My truck is a 2006 2500 5.9L and hasn't started in about 2 weeks. batteries are fully charged.

Here is what I have replaced -->

  • Fuel Pump
  • Fuel Filter
  • Pressure Relief Valve
  • Heating Grid
  • Intake Heating Relay
  • Injectors and Tubes
  • Injector Pump
  • MAP Sensor
I'm wondering if there is a relay or sensor I'm missing.

I'm at a loss of what can be left. It seems like there isn't pressure going from the filter housing to the injector pump.

I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out what else is left to check.

Thanks in advance,

Zach

5.9? What's it in? Aren't they all 6.7 by that year?

Have you checked the Fuel Control actuator? It can cause no start if bad.

Well scratch that idea.
How about instaling a fuel pressure gauge on the inlet line side of the CP3? So you can see if fuel supply PSI is good. Pretty sure they make banjo bolts with a tap for a gauge for the CP3. I have one on my P7100

Ok I'll try that. It seems like 9psi or so which is low.

It should start and run fine at 9 PSI. IIRC stock is 8-10 Psi idle. Wild guess... Could be the fuel pressure sensor. But seems you would get a trouble code for that.
Not real familiar with the CP3 but.
Heres a troubleshoot article for no start. It may help.

Might also look into cumminsforum.com. Like this forum, there's good people there. Lots of Tech info, free service manual DL, ECT
