I recently purchased a 2007 GMC lbz and was wondering about changing the diffs to amsoil. I know the rear takes 75w90 and I believe the front takes 80w90. My question is, I want to use Amsoil but I don't know how much to buy. Any info on what I need for both the front and rear would be appreciated. Also, Amsoil makes two different types of 80w90. I don't know which one to buy. I am planning on the severe gear75w90 for the rear. Thanks

6 qts total, 2 for the front and just under 4 for the rear. I use 75w-90 front and rear.

The back takes a little under 4 qts., 1/2 to 3/4th of a inch below the fill plug, the front takes 2 qts., total of 6 qts. You might have a little left over, under 6 to 8 ozs.

Thanks guys, since I have an 07 my manual says the front takes 80w90. Can I still use 75w90 in the front?

Yes, you can. 75w90 is synthetic oil, usually 80w90 in dino oil. A lot of members use synthetic in the front, including myself...
