Truck died and wont go,will rewire engine bay as thats what I do.
Tried new pmd , no go. Hesitant to replace pump-$$$
Wiring harness butchered during conversion i presume.
Any good service manuals recommended with complete wiring diagrams

G'day dorothy and toto (from OZ), and welcome to the forum.............

Go thru the diagnostics checklist for a better idea of what's happening with your truck, then post the results here.

Also, you might just read thru the FAQ's for further general information and pointers to areas of concern.

Take a mo' and fill out your sig with the trucks specifics - stays with each post, so we don't need to find your original first post to see what ya got

Maddadd,

When you say conversion, I am assuming a conversion to right hand drive for 'Aussie' use; hence the "G'Day" stuff. At any rate, welcome to the best site for 6.5 info. You indicate that the wiring harness was butchered during the conversion. As indicated before, go through the diagnotic check list. I would also keep an eye out for the engine grounds. They are typically located on the passenger side (driver's side now). One of those grounds is for the PCM (computer). The PCM was probably relocated to the other side of the truck.

Good luck and keep us posted to the outcome. With a little "Yankee ingenuity" we'll get this thing running.

fuel shut off solenoid on inj pump? in canada it was a 132 dollar part and cost me 2grand to figure it out by the time i paid for truck and trailer rentals, fuel, rooms, and parts. it ran good for months and then went to start it in the morning, stumbled and died, that was the end of her till i changed the "ESO" as they call it. CR was a great help on this one for me. it looks like a stack of quaters on the injection pump w/ a 9/16" head on it, its also got a small 2 wire conector on it if i remember correctly. good luck. torque on it from what i was told was snug with wrench

Hey Fellas I got HER going today after much cursin and many threats.
Everything I needed to know was all here on the site and the advice was invaluable, so a big thank you to all who replied and to site mods for a very well put together info base.
I removed & cleaned all battery terminal connections, wire brushed all the ground connections I could find in particular the battery neg. to chassis cable.
Removed & Brushed starter motor terminals on solenoid where main power is taken from to distribution block and she nearly fired and was definitely cranking a lot better, faster.:)
Metered out the PMD extension harness and found some dodgy terminal connections so extracted all terminals and soldered new wires to each and refitted to plugs.
Kicked Her in the guts and away she went. You little beauty !!!!
Sat down had several beers , couldnt get the smile off me dial.:D

Thanks again will keep in touch
MADDADD:ro):thankyou2

Congrats on the fix - you'll have much more reliable power if you'll do the battery post modifications in the Reference\FAQ's area.

Got pics............
