I bought a Purolator fuel filter, part # F55464 the other day. A few bucks cheaper than the dealer. I was wondering how to find out if this is the new multi pleat type or one that's "been on the shelf" since the bad ole days. The fine print on the filter is - "55752 REV D" Any filter gurus out there?

I'm not a filter guru.
The newest filter should be longer than the original, and the diameter just above the WIF sensor should be slightly smaller than diameter of the filter. The smaller diameter area is there to allow installation on LB7's.
Dealers are still selling, or trying to install the old types with the filter recall, so don't trust them to really know either.
The newest GM Filter is a TP1298B, and NOT the TP1298A they might try to sell you.
