I've owned this truck since 2008, it has just over 130,000 miles on it and has been built proof until now.

Starting about six months ago, I noticed that my fuel filter reset was going to zero. I replaced the filter and reset it, it seemed to work fine until about 2 months ago when it started resetting itself to zero. The filter only had maybe 2500 miles on it.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and the truck shut down while stopped at a traffic light. After towing it home and going though it, the FICM was found to be bad. The only choice I had was to send mine out for rebuild as I could not find any for sale for less that $3000. Mine was deemed to be not repairable so my friend was able to get me a rebuilt one and we got it installed. Once I got the truck running again, I noticed the damn filter reminder resetting again! Also my alternator was not charging the best, so I replace that today.

I'm wondering if the filter reminder setting all the time had anything to do with the FICM (Fuel Injector Control Module) going bad. Has anyone else had this type of problem?

Thanks

A 2005 has a preset mileage reminder (15k miles, IIRC). There is no way for the truck to calculate fuel filter life, on a 2005.
Therefore, it must be a BCM or IPC software glitch.

That is what I was thinking,
