Can find owner manual, GM web site only goes back to 1998 for owner manual.
I need to change the transmission fluid & filter on my suburban.
1995 GMC Sub, 4x4, 6.5L turbo diesel, 4L80E transmission
What fluid type ?
How many quarts needed for standard change ?
I know this isn't the transmission section but was pretty sure I would get answered quicker here.
Thanks in Advance

GM always use Dexron III which is superseeded by Dexron VI.
The most popular ATF is Valvoline Maxlife which can be used in a lot different types of common transmission.
It is around $18 at WM for a gallon.

Total fill is 13.5 quarts according to Amsoil website.
I don't think you will get total fill if you just do drain, open pan, fill is probably about 8 quarts.
