To solve my trailer brake light problem, I ordered turn signal flasher part number 15764135 from gmpartsdirect.com and received part number 10383321. These two parts appear to be identical in form, fit, and function. I swapped out the flashers and the new one seems to work fine (although I have not yet hitched up the trailer to see if the brake light problem is fixed) Anybody have any insight into what seems to be a part number mismatch, or should I just not sweat it?

Thanks in advance.

it is an updated number, just went thru the same thing last week on 2 trucks for a company i do maintenance work on. they had trailer wiring problems and overloaded the flashers. once you turned on the left blinker, the relay in the flasher box stuck and you could not turn the blinker off!
smack the box and off the blinker went til next time.

Okay, thanks for that information. Yeah, mine was the left trailer brake light would not come on when you hit the brakes, but worked fine with the blinkers. Truck brake lights and blinkers were all okay.
