The hitch must have been expensive, because you couldn't afford a new receiver and ball to match the purdy hitch:D

That the 2 inch draw bar with some sort of bushing to fit the 2.5 inch receiver?? Did the bushing come with the hitch?
I really like it, alot better than the flimsy looking stocker.

i got the hitch from http://www.hitchesforless.com

it was 269.00

the recivers a 14,000lb solid with a 12,000 lb ball, its fairly new :)

since its a class 5 it has a 2.5 inch Receiver Tube Opening. they sell a sleave that makes it a 2 inch. its 14.00 for the sleave. works great!!

those are the way to go. much bigger then the stock one, better design, and all the welds are nice and complete (unlike the GM hitch) the stock hitches are crap.

I have had the same hitch for about a year now. Great hitch. Try to look past the dirt. The weather has been melting every thing up here.
I went with the 7 round and the 4 flat plug combo. I also drilled and tapped the top of the 2.5 opening and installed a 3/8" grade 8 bolt to secure the receiver from bouncing around. I saw it on here from someone else. Great idea when going over them damn speed bumps and bouncing around the 30+ lbs receiver I have,

I had a Valley Power Pull Xtreme put on the truck today. WC capacity of 12,000 and WD capacity of 15,000. I'm going with the the 2.5" insert for my pintle hook-ups for heavy trailer duties, but I also have the sleave so I can still use my 2" ball mount to tow the boat. Next is the brake controller install...still tossing around which one to get.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but the bolts closest to the bumper kept loosening on mine. I took the bolt to OSH and got a nut for it. I then bolted it back up with some Loctite and ran the nut on the top as a jam nut. No more problems.;)
