Just picked up my new 2007 Silverado classic (DMAX of course) and I decided to get the extended 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and now I am beginning to wonder if this was the right choice. Granted it is nice to know that I am covered no matter what happens but can that alone justify spending the extra $$$. Just curious I quess

Note: I also posted a thread a couple of days ago about what kind of mods will
void the factory warranty so if you have any suggestions let me know

I am getting the extended warranty on mine just in case. I already priced the gmpp bumper to bumper for 5yrs and i beleived the women told me 115k, it has $0 deductable, towing , 5 day car rental, etc. for $3000. It seems expensive but then so is the torque converter and or the trans. Turbo is not cheap either or the rear diff lock. I already had the pcm replaced once and the EGR valve. Also had to replace the alternator but i will be upgrading to duals here soon. It may be a waste of money but i would rather be covered on a trip than say heck with the warranty, i will save money and do it myself. But that is not so easy when you drive alot of highway miles and or out of town away from your tools or garage. What can be done by yourself with no diag equipment, little or no tools no place to work on it and you dont know anyone. How far do you drive it? Do you have any friends who are diesel techs or at least a friend with a flatbed to tow you home. I even have friends with a tow business, an automotive shop and know a GM diesel tech but i am still buying the warranty. That is just my opinion.
