Hello,great site good info I own an 05 crew cab LLY Duramax
I am wondering if i can run a straigt pipe exhaust without setting
any (DTC) or will i run into any other promblems

Some throw codes and others do not. These things can be very quirky with throwing codes with exhaust upgrades.

same here, full exhaust no cat, egr blocked. never thrown a code even when i limp. but i bought a fingerstick, just havent needed to install it yet

It blocks the codes from showing up. Makes the computer think everything is normal.

You might get soft codes stored in your ECM, but no CEL light from what I understand.

I am about to install my 4" exhaust and was wondering, if it does set off a light, will it effect driveability? Just curious because I'd like to install it before my next road trip but I may not have time to get a finger stick.

It will not effect drivability. The light will eventually go off with about 10 ignition cycles if you dont have a programmer to clear it yourself.
