Just Traded my 02 lb7 for and 05 lly. Had a bullydog 4 inch on my old truck, the new one had nothing. I found a pretty good deal on MBRP 4 inch, but I'm trying to figure out what's the story with this 401 and 404 code. They make a EGR code eliminator that plugs in and fixes this problem, but is it really needed? Any light that someone could shed on this situation would be greatly appreciated. First LLY so I'm having to learn a little bit more.....

Thanks in advanced guys.

My Ca. emissions LLY did not trip the 401 or 404 with a Banks cat-back exhaust or air intake, but when I removed the cat, I got the codes...I installed a Fingers Stick to prevent them from tripping again...

My 04 federal emissions lly did not throw any codes when I blocked my egr and installed my 4" catless exhaust. Some tuners such as the predator have the ability to ignore the egr.

Do you notice that big of improvement when you remove the cat?

Thanks for the insight!

The exhaust will get a little louder and your steady speed EGT will drop about 150*...

I have a 5" on my LLY. It's never thrown a code and the cat is removed.
The exhaust sounds like a jet :)
