My Compressor stopped running. Last month my compressor started running all the time, even with the key off. I found a relay by the compressor and tapped it lightly. Compressor then ran OK. Now compressor will not run at all. Should I replace relay, and is this a common relay carried by auto parts stores and any Chevy dealer parts dept. Currently on the road and hard to find MD dealer. Thanks, John

GM release bulletin # 05-08-133-001 on this issue in September. You should replace both the relay and the air pressure switch with the updated part numbers. Personally I wouldn't recommend using an off the shelf part, :badidea: but then I like OEM engineering and validation on things like this. It might prevent a repeat repair or worse...the dreaded "Thermal Event".

Here are the GM numbers:

Relay #12193605
Press. switch #15250698

Had the same problem, they had to replace both also. I now drain the water everyday from the tank. Haven't had a problem since. I hope.
