Greetings,
Has anyone used the Engine Restorer Product that you add to the oil? Claims to restore compression which in turn adds power. Could it help with blow by as high as our compression ratio is? Project farm did a video on it and it did raise compression on his old diesel tractor.

There are some products that free up gummed up rings that do decrease blowby. Restorer is for increasing compression. I used it on an old gas burner I was selling. A friend wanted the truck badly and I wouldn't sell it to him till I got it running better. After changing the oil with a flush of diesel in the oil, I put new oil in with the restorer. That afternoon the truck started running a lot better. I sold it to him and he is still running it 2 years later and it runs fine.

I used it long ago in a AMC Eagle. We had owned it a long time. It was my Wifes favorite car. The engine had around 250K on it. Ran good but used a bit of oil. The Restorer did help. Reduced oil consumption and a little more power.
Did not seem to hurt it at all. Drove the Eagle for about a year after that then traded it in on an AMC Cherokee.
That is how long ago that it was AMC was still around. We had a dealer in town.
