Yeah , I did. They wanted to see the ball mount I had been using but they did replace it for free under warranty. The replacement OEM hitch is no better than the first.

Mine is too. I think the slop from the adapter doesn't help. I'll eventually have to get the Putnam or Curt replacement. I'm not even going to try to get it covered under warranty- useless.

I had mine replaced also. Dealer had to see the mount also.

Replaced mine

My truck was about a year old and had towed our camper maybe 2000 miles and it was happening. Put a Reese Titan class V on and never looked back.

is this a common problem? what weight are you guys pulling?

Are you guys using the "bent" L style pin or a straight pin? Bent L type pins will cause elongation wear much faster than a traditional straight pin. This is due to the pin shifting sideways onto the bent area where cross section diameter is narrow -this allows hitch head and adapter to move around more while under load.

If out of warranty -two solutions
1. Buy new aftermarket hitch
2. Have compentent welder buildup hole on hitch and adaptor sleeve -then rebore hole. Key here is to use a rod/wire that is a little harder than the base metal.
